Our Owners tell our story best

"Wildlife is abundant with songbirds deer and wild turkeys everywhere. Moving here was the Best thing we have ever done in our lives"

"Well, it all started in August 2010, two months before my husband Alan and I were to attend his nephew's wedding in Pittsburgh. Alan said, if you ever thought about a second home, now would be the time. Dunlap, Tennessee was a dart in the map, and we liked the tax situation in Tennessee but did not want to get too far north into the cold. I already had a brief conversation with Land In Tennessee, so we set up a tour for the next day. We checked into the Mountain Inn in Dunlap and were then invited to stay at the lodge the following night. We spent the day looking at the property at Fredonia Mountain Nature Resort, and I fell in love with lot #300. May I add that with every trip back to FMNR, we fell in love with it more and more. We purchased two lots in July, 2011 at Fredonia Mountain Nature Resort!! We have enjoyed everyone we have met connected with this deal and are looking forward to our next trip to the mountain."

"Back in 2007, my sister-in-law was surfing the web for property in TN and came across the www.LandInTennessee.com website. They soon visited FMNR and were so excited they bought a lot in Stone Creek Phase 5 and told us all about this wonderful place in TN. The properties we saw in the outskirts of Knoxville and Chattanooga could not compare to what we found in the little town of Dunlap, TN, on top of Fredonia Mountain. They were much more expensive and in less than desirable areas. If we had not visited these other areas first, we could not have appreciated the value we found in FMNR."

The website did not do justice to the fantastic views, the rock outcroppings, and the wildlife. During our first visit, we saw a flock of wild turkeys and multiple sightings of deer. We looked at a variety of lots - bluff lots with fantastic views, rocky, tree-covered acreage, and lots adjacent to natural streams. We returned to the Knoxville area, but nothing could compare to what we had seen on Fredonia Mountain.

We love the peace and quiet we have found here and the amazing scenery. The hiking trails are a huge bonus, and we just love exploring the mountain. The other thing we really like is how friendly all the people living up here are.

The unique natural feel coupled with the nearby town of Dunlap and the city of Chattanooga make FMNR a great location. The community has drawn a like-minded group of neighbors that has truly made us feel at home.

It's a wonderful community of people besides being breathtakingly beautiful and a joy to experience every day. I feel blessed every day I spend here.

Fredonia Mountain Nature Resort has been our home for four years. If there is one word to capture our experience living here, it is Serene. There is just a serenity living here among nature that cannot be explained, only experienced. While there is a strong sense of community, there is also plenty of space for individualism. The change of seasons we have on the mountain is a constant pleasure. I can never find the words to adequately describe the blossoming of Spring, the intense green of Summer, the spectacular colors of Autumn (just visit in late October, and you will never want to leave), and the stark beauty of winter. While our name is Fredonia Mountain Nature Resort, for those of us living here, it is home, and a great place to call home.

In October 2004, we discovered Fredonia Mountain Nature Resort. It overlooks the beautiful Sequatchie Valley, has a scenic view of nearby Signal Mountain as well as access to several mountaintop lakes. We both knew instantly that our search was over. We bought five acres. After retiring in 2008, we built our dream log home and moved to our own "heaven on earth".

As we walked out onto Lot # 287, we were wowed by this gorgeous 2.8 acres that has a nice slope to it with various hardwood trees scattered across the property. We closed on the property before the New Year and hope to be building our second home up there soon.

After looking at properties every day for almost two weeks, I was no closer to finding my dream until I came to Fredonia Mountain Nature Resort. I was awed by the beauty of the area, the wonderful trails here, and the perfect lot, like it was made for me, I found exactly what I wanted. This place had all of my must-haves and would like to have with not one negative. I knew I had found my home at last. I have miles of trails and roadside to ride my horse, I love where I live, and I have wonderful neighbors. I love sitting outside at night when the moon is full, and the leaves on the trees have a silvery glow -- the woods turns magical. I love the quiet and the peace here and the beauty of every season. For me, it's like a bit of heaven on earth.

The reasons are far too many to list, but when we decided it was time to retire and leave Houston, Texas, we went east instead of west ... and found Fredonia Mountain Nature Resort. We were looking for a small rural community that's not too far away from civilization, with a low cost of living and mild weather. The best surprise was how easy it was to meet so many others who share the same commitment to the quality of life that is enjoyed by all of us at FMNR ... our new friends and neighbors. We love living up here on the mountain!

We were fortunate to find Fredonia Mountain Nature Resort, a place that met all of these requirements and more beautiful property with mature hardwoods, fantastic views, amazing trails where we can ride our horses, and friendly people who also enjoy all the resort has to offer. We moved in last October and have really enjoyed living in our new home through the fall, winter, and spring seasons and look forward to many happy years in Fredonia Mountain Nature Resort.

My husband and I first found this paradise by accident while on vacation 8 1/2 years ago. Still years from retirement, we had no intention of owning a second home. However, that intention changed the moment I stepped foot on this mountain. Suddenly, I realized exactly where I was always meant to be. Nothing in my life had ever felt so right, so quickly. Fast forward 8 years later...One would think, after living in the same place for so many years, you would become complacent. That couldn't be farther from the truth. Not a day goes by that I don't thank God for allowing me to live in such a fantastic place. He truly did some of His finest work here on the mountain. There is a peacefulness that I have never seen anywhere else. I am truly blessed.
